LadyBossBlogger Course Honest Review: Is it Worth The Investment?

Recap of Why I Took The Course

It is my first anniversary as a Travel, Food & Aloha Lifestyle Influencer where I gave myself a 5-year plan to completely replace and exceed my current income to influencer income. I want to travel the world full time and tending to my current business only allows me to take several trips a year. I make 6 figures so surpassing my growing income from my current business is no easy task. However, this doesn’t stop me from starting something new and putting my all into it when I can envision a greater outcome.

Read my last blog post, 1 Year Anniversary Giveaway: LadyBossBlogger Course to read about my results after a year of becoming an influencer by trial and error.

I decided to take the  LadyBossBlogger Course, Make Money As An Influencer as a gift to myself so I can fast track my goals.

What I Now Regret

I regret not taking one of the LadyBossBlogger courses a year ago. As I went through the influencer course I realized that I did learn a lot on my own in the past year because I had been exposed to most topics in this course. For all intents and purposes, I am an influencer. However, if I would have invested in learning from someone like Elaine Rau, the founder of the LadyBossBlogger courses when I first started I’d be an influencer with higher earnings today.

LadyBossBlogger offers two different courses:

Start A Money Making Blog and Make Money As An Influencer

I chose to take the Make Money as an Influencer course because my Instagram game is much stronger than my blog. I know of many people that make money as an Instagram influencer without a blog. I created a blog with all the intentions of monetizing it because I get the importance of having a website that you own and control. However, my influencer status took off with Instagram and brands mainly asked me for Instagram posts, so I wanted to increase the wins that I was getting from Instagram.

Unfortunately, I should have stayed on the path of blogging because Elaine emphasizes in the Influencer course how important it is to have a blog. Although the influencer course doesn’t teach you how to create a money-making blog, it is geared toward a blogger who wants to make money as an influencer. I found that this course comes from Elaine’s perspective that making money as an influencer and having a blog go hand in hand.

Was I a little bummed that it wasn’t all about making brand bucks just on social media? Yes. However, I completely understand why this course was written this way; Elaine started as a blogger first. I mean, her brand is called LadyBossBlogger, right? So, this is my biggest gripe with the course. It’s not teaching how to make money just on socials. Elaine even refers to the student of this course many times as a Blogger and shares more resources for bloggers who want brand deals than just being an influencer. As I delved deeper into the course I realized that I needed to nurture my blog because it’s the only way to make more money from brands.

Do I have any other issues with this course? Well, to be honest, yes. As a long time business owner, I found the legal section to be extremely basic information that you can google and read in one article. It doesn’t show you how to set up anything legal, nor does it teach you how to do your taxes as an influencer. It was more informative for the uninformed, but Elaine doesn’t teach you how to do anything she defines in this section. You will need to consult with a legal and tax professional on those matters or take the time to learn as you go.

I set up my own LLC, my trademarks and I do my own taxes (and I’ve done many other people’s taxes over the years…please don’t ask…I don’t want to anymore!) and most business owners I know have never done those things for themselves. So, I come from a different knowledge level than most people would when taking this course. The legal information Elaine introduces you to should definitely be a checklist of what you need to get assistance with or learn to do when the time comes. Besides the legal section of this course being more informational than “how-to,” the course is worthwhile.

A LadyBossBlogger Course IS Worth the Investment

I was indeed exposed to much of what is in the How to Make Money as an Influencer course before I took it, but Elaine explains the why’s and the how’s along with providing tools and the networks you need to succeed. I like to win. I set goals. I like to reach my goals. A huge takeaway from this course that spoke to me personally is actually from one of the course bonuses. Elaine lists traits that successful influencers have.

Trait number one: They (Influencers) are PROCESS DRIVEN not goal-driven – stop thinking about your destination(s) and fall in love with the journey. Yes it’s important to set goals and you will always have more goals to hit, but 99% of the time you’ll be in “process mode” which is a constant state of learning, improving, and growing. If you’re goal-driven, you’ll run out of steam because it’s exhausting to start back up again.

I found that one Influencer trait description to be so true. As a goal-driven individual, I must remember to be dedicated to the process and not just reaching goals on my impatient journey to replacing my income. Speaking of which, I mentioned in my last blog post that I needed to work on consistently posting. Elaine mentioned that posting frequently is key.

So, I challenged myself to post every day this week and already my engagement on Instagram is up. I’m even getting more reach via hashtags which seriously suffered when the Instagram algorithm changed last Fall. Now I know I need to be consistent not only on Instagram but also with my blog. I’ll only gain the traction on my blog with consistency.

I also mentioned in my anniversary post that I have never pitched a brand. I still haven’t pitched a brand directly, but I did join some of the networks that Elaine suggested and applied to some campaigns. I was awarded some of those paid collaborations! I’m also getting more brand offers in my inbox than I did a month ago due to my consistency on Instagram.

So, I will be coming back to this course time and time again as a resource. How to Make Money as an Influencer is packed with money-making processes that I need to implement into my daily routine. I’m glad I gave myself the gift of knowledge and I recommend anyone wanting to monetize their influence to take one of the LadyBossBlogger courses.

If you do not have a blog I would recommend you take the Start A Money Making Blog course.

If you do have a blog and you are ready to take your Instagram influence to the next level I recommend the  Make Money As An Influencer course.

Thank you for your post.  It is very informative.  I myself am not one that is big on instagram.  I find it so interesting that people become influencers without a blog.  It seems to work well for people.  Then once they get the following, they create a blog.
I totally agree with you that consistently posting to your blog is the key to success.  I am not quite a motivated as once per day, but I do try and post minimum 2 times per week.  I have really been focusing on learning Pinterest and it does seem to be helping.
Great job, I really enjoyed your review.  Sounds like you have everything figured out.  Thanks

      Hi Coralie,

2 blog posts a week is wonderful! I wish I could be so disciplined. I need to find a way to sneak in blogging time before my family wakes up. Yes, I agree that it’s foolish to not have a blog and only Instagram. According to what I learned in this course, brand deals pay well when you do a blog post and promote the products/post on social media. Just for that alone you may want to go ahead and get on Instagram because most brands ask for the extra boost! Affliate marketing is good because it’s usually residual, but it’s nice to get a $2000 check every once in a while for 1 post!

I hope to aspire to blogging greatness like you! Mahalo (Thank You) for commenting!

First off, congratulations on your anniversary! 🙂 That is so exciting! 🙂 I really appreciate your honesty with this review; it’s nice to know the parts that may have proven frustrating/disappointing, and not just the good parts. I’m just getting started on my journey, so I’m glad I came across your article; I’ll be checking out LadyBossBlogger sooner rather than later so I don’t go trying to reinvent the wheel. I think, based on your recommendations, I’ll take a look at the “How to Start a Moneymaking Blog” course.

Would you say that the course helped you on your 5-year plan? Do you think that, without the LadyBossBlogger course, you’d be in the same, better, or worse position than you are in currently, in relation to your 5-year plan?

I wish you well on the journey to your next milestone! 🙂

    1. AlohaMelani

      Hi Melissa!

Actually, it helped the 5-year plan because in 1 year I’m just not where I want to be. Now I’m more committed to posting on Instagram frequently which has caused my engagement to go up tremendously in only a week. Previous to this course I would post once a week.

Also, the course has so many resources and it teaches pitching to brands…something I haven’t done yet because I’ve been lucky enough to have brands come to me. Also, the influencer networks helped me land a few brand deals as well. I know that once the pandemic is over the only way to get travel brand deals is to actually pitch. This course is helping me get ready for that.

I recommend checking out some of the free resources (they are mini courses) at the end of my blog post to see if it’s a fit for you. If you like her teaching style, then you can move forward with the paid course.

Good luck on your Influencer Journey!

      Hi Joy,

I’m glad you found my review of LadyBossBlogger Make Money as an Influencer course helpful! Yes, it helped me tremendously, but nothing is perfect right? I had to keep it 100% real when doing my review. However I love how this is geared toward women (although the info works well for men as well…knowledge is knowledge). Brand collaboration cash is fun to make. Good luck and feel free to reach out with any questions!

  6. Collins

Thank u so much for sharing this article with the public, i feel everyone should indeed take these courses, many out there are grinding from 8 to 4 without getting sufficient money, it is so saddening that they do not know about great opportunities like these. I’m taking the online course of blog making because I know a friend who makes it big there

    1. AlohaMelani

      Collins,

I agree that everyone should definitely have some sort of self employment whether it be blogging, influence, selling something, etc. In this day and age a j.o.b. is not always guaranteed. Retirement income isn’t either. If we are willing and able, making our own money, starting with a side hustle is definitely possible. A course like this only helps to speed up that process.

      Mahalo for giving me feedback!

      ~Aloha

Thanks for the review Melani! I had never heard of this course before. I am definitely more on the blogging side of things though and don’t really use instagram for my blog. Sounds really interesting though! I have heard the IG algorithm changes are pretty rough.
